I took BHRR's Cherry to the Vet's today. I wanted to get an updated weight and to have an exam – she was having a discharge over the last few days from her vulva – and if she was healthy do her vaccines.
I also did a HWT plus repeated her bloodwork based upon the results that were found back on her November bloodwork.
She ROCKED the car, did very well with her leash manners and she gave her paw very nicely to all that would greet her! 🙂 She was only mildly nervous of one of the Vets, a male. Yet, after some reassurance was feeling more confident.
She weighed a very wiggly 37 KGS(81.4 pounds) and is more likely closer to 85 pounds and she does not need to many more pounds before she shall be at her ideal weight.
There were a couple of comments from people while I was out with her about how 'skinny' she was and I just asked, can you see her ribs and they replied barely….then, she is getting pretty close to perfect if you can barely see all her ribs and one should always very faintly see the last two ribs on their non hairy dogs.
She is a very pettite and very feminine GD. She should not be 100 pounds right now.
We held off on her vaccines for the discharge did prove me conrrect that she has a UTI and we are running a UA by cysto.
I meant to give her a manicure and a pedicure while she was there and so, we shall just do it at home.
I was hoping to be able to place her up for adoption next week yet, with now having to go on Clavamox for her UTI – the discharge was pus on the cytology slide – and so, we have to wait until she is healthy and I can give her the last of her vaccines.
This just gives her more time to get better and better with her obedience, confidence and to add a few more pounds. 🙂 No rush!
Here is a VIDEO of her car ride into KAH! WHAT a passenger she makes!
AND here is her updated slide of how progress to date:
AND any future adoptive home MUST know that she will swallow socks and so BE CAREFUL!
She has full run of the house and is 100% trustworthy in our home when we go out.
