This is for Miss Amata’s(Amy’s) foster home.

We have busted Miss Amy out of the clinic – who has spent since her amputation and eye enucleation on February 12th, no less than a month in the Hospital.

She has had no less than seven additional sedated procedures since her amputation to save her.

Her wonderful foster mama resides several hours away from EVC and has made two drives already for Miss Amy to have rechecks. Miss Amy remains on high doses of pain medication and antibiotics, including having an antibiotic cream to now pack into and around the open drainage area on the amputation site.

The last cytology I did – on Wednesday AM – has found more bacteria inside her amputation site.

Her healing journey has been fraught with so much worry, stress, and expenses, and her mental health is as important as her physical health, so her JP drain was pulled, and she was busted out of the Hospital. If she needs to be re-admitted for any reason(s), we have zero hesitation. Her incredible Veterinary team, which includes the practice owner and the rest of her ortho/in-hospital team, have been by her and my side with fantastic support, reassurance, encouragement, and unbelievable caring kindness.

The tears I have shed, the questions and worry I have had…the strain, plus the lack of sleep I have been under trying to do right by Amy have been unprecedented and intense. This is not my first amputation – this is #39, yet the first I have not fostered myself, and I have been making myself available 24/7 to be there for her foster home. I understand more than anyone the rehabilitation journey these surgeries require, and I have assured her foster home many times over that they are not alone.

We do not have a closer, amazing foster home for Miss Amy, so that is not an option. Miss Amy has settled in beautifully into this medical foster.

In my efforts to keep paying off her extensive bills, almost $15,000 since November, I also want to continue supporting her foster home as strongly as I can.

One way is to help pay for gas for these rechecks—her next one needs to be next week—and I am hoping, begging even, if anyone may consider making a donation to help pay for gas—either via a PayPal or email transfer donation to contactbhrr@gmail.com or donating a gas card(s).

Thank you, everyone, in advance for your possible consideration…
