BHRR shall be one of 23 local Rescues attending the 2nd ANNUAL TAKE THE PLUNGE event on Saturday July 23rd and Sunday July 24th at the R/C Raceway in Ottawa, Ontario!

*Note: This is a CASH only Event (There will not be any debit or credit card services at this event. A cash machine is available in the entrance of the Rideau Carleton Raceway).
BHRR shall have a booth/tent at this event and feel really honoured to be participating!

*Adoption & Volunteer Applications – BHRR WILL NOT be doing any on-site adoptions. This is not something supported by BHRR nor organizers of this Event
*Donation Box whereby all funds donated shall to go BHRR's Maggie May's Vet & Rehab Bills – leg amputation done on May 10th
*Knowledgeable and friendly Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions regarding:
- the importance of spay/neutering
- the importance of microchipping – Out of 20 dogs that have recently gone missing in the Ottawa area; ONLY 7 have been found and of those; 4 were microchipped
- the importance of obedience
- why animals end up in rescue/shelters/pounds etc.
- HOW you can help!
- supporting only reputable/quality Rescues and Breeders
- how to research when seeking to add a new addition
- owning a Giant Breed – Great Dane, Saint Bernard, Great Pyrenees, Irish Wolfhound, Newfoundland, English Mastiff or Deerhound
'RESCUE CHALLANGE: 5 PM in Demo Area on Saturday July 23rd:

Winning Rescue takes the pot! There is no limit to the number of dogs a Rescue can enter, $2.00/per entry & the dog must be a foster dog. BHRR's Benjamin and I are going to 'go it alone' as the lone team representation of BHRR! WISH US LUCK! Come cheer us on! This is going to be a lot of entertainment for all!!!
Thanks to all of our Volunteers that will be hanging with me one or both days! I shall be there both days, all day and I know the dogs would love the extra loving. 🙂 I can promise drool, leans, hair and laughs!
Set-up is 7 AM – 9 AM both days.
NOTE: BHRR is not part of the 7 Rescues that the monies raised that weekend shall be going towards. BHRR is using this wonderful opportunity presented for eduational and awareness purposes and perhaps shall make a few pennies from donations and selling a few items!
